In the MCU, he appeared as Thanos in Guardians of the Galaxy (2014), Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015) and later starring in Avengers: Infinity War (2018) and Avengers: Endgame (2019). In 2021, he returned to provide the voice for an alternate timeline version of Thanos in the animated series What If...? and portrayed Gurney Halleck in Denis Villeneuve's sci-fi epic Dune (2021) and in the upcoming sequel in 2023. In 2022, he starred in the supernatural mystery series Outer Range.
Joshua Gad (born February 23, 1981) is an American film, television and stage actor who was in the short-lived television series Back to You in the role of Ryan Church. The show premiered in September 2007 co-starring Patricia Heaton and Kelsey Grammer. Gad has also appeared in episodes of ER and Numb3rs. His film appearances include The Rocker, Crossing Over, 21, and Razortooth. He appeared on Broadway in the role of William Barfeé in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee and as Elder Cunningham in The Book of Mormon.

She is also known for appearing in the 2008 feature film The Longshots as Edith. From 2008 to 2011, she starred as Bailey Pickett in The Suite Life on Deck. In 2010, she starred in the film 16 Wishes, which was the most watched cable program on the day of its premiere on the Disney Channel. 16 Wishes introduced Ryan to new audiences; the movie received high viewership in the adults demographic (18–34). From 2011–2015 Ryan starred as the titular nanny on the Disney Channel original series Jessie; she also directed an episode of the series that aired on May 15, 2015.
