Eine Horror-Anthologie aus Österreich? Kann das klappen? Portae Infernales zeigt, dass es klappen kann, wenn auch die drei Filme in ihrer Qualität absteigend sind. Inhumanity, das erste Segement des Films, ist dabei das stärkste Segment. Fast philosophisch wird über die Lust am töten geredet, während man selbst gerade die Liebe entdeckt und was Alexander Donesch hier in seiner Rolle abliefert ist schon stark. Auch das zweite Segment, Die Bruderschaft des östlichen Tores, ist noch solide und sehenswert. Ganz langsam steuert der Film auf seinen Höhepunkt zu, spielt geschickt die Psychologiekarte aus und liefert auch bei den Splattereffekten ab. Mit Agonia wird die Anthologie dann allerdings etwas unbefriedigend abgeschlossen. Die Rape and Revenge Geschichte verlässt sich zuviel auf rohe Gewalt und schockierende Szenen ohne die Charaktere einzuführen und zu entwickeln, weswegen das Segment wie billiger Tortureporn wirkt. Gewalt in Horrorfilmen ist für mich ja kein Tabu, aber bitte nicht nur um Gewalt zu zeigen. Trotz des kleines Wehrmutstropfen mit dem finalen Segment bleibt Portae Infernales ein sehenswerter Genrevertreter. Fans können einschalten. [Sneakfilm.de]
